Our Ministry

We meet people where hardship is greatest, build relationships, and connect the support that helps them move toward restoration.

Frontline Restoration Ministry

Our frontline is wherever people are facing poverty, illness, homelessness, displacement, or broken relationships. We begin by being present, listening, and recognising each person's God-given dignity. HEMEFund brings people and organisations together so practical care can grow into lasting support.

Relationship

Restoration begins with relationship

Food, medical care, and opportunities to learn and work matter. They take root in relationships marked by attention, love, and trust. In our street outreach, a hand held a little longer can remind us how deeply people long for family, friendship, and a place to belong. We make time to listen, share a meal, learn a person's story, and return.

We invite our community to see a neighbour in each person: someone with a story, gifts, relationships, and hopes. Learning to see one another this way is part of restoration.

What we do today

Current ministries

Current relational outreach

Project Nshima

Shared meals, conversation, worship and prayer, and consistent presence with street-connected people. We build relationships over time and help explore appropriate next steps.

Children and adults need different kinds of support. For children, next steps must follow appropriate child-protection and care pathways.

Our approach

How we walk together

  1. 1

    Meet

We spend time with people where they live their everyday lives. Getting to know someone and treating them with respect is where trust begins.

  2. 2

    Listen

We listen carefully to each person's difficulties and hopes. Their voice helps shape the next step we consider together.

  3. 3

    Care

We respond to immediate needs for food, practical support, and healthcare within our capacity. Medical decisions and treatment remain the responsibility of qualified professionals.

  4. 4

    Connect

When someone needs more specialised help, we look for appropriate local organisations and partners. Children's safety and responsible care arrangements come first.

  5. 5

    Keep walking

Restoration takes time. We seek to remain in relationship, review changing needs, and consider the next step together within our capacity.

Each person's needs, choices, and pace guide the next step. Restoration takes time.

The collaboration we are building

A community of care around each person

We invite these parts of our community to work together.

The person and their community

Dignity · Voice · Belonging

Government & social services

Hospitals & health professionals

Children's care organisations

Schools & skills training

Churches & nonprofit organisations

Businesses & individuals

HEMEFund meets, listens, connects, and follows up. Each partner brings its own skills, responsibilities, and relationships.

Connections are shaped around the person, with appropriate professional and safeguarding responsibilities.

Good partnerships connect people with different skills and responsibilities. Drawing on what we hear in the community, we talk with local churches, professionals, and organisations about how we can serve together. We clarify roles and capacity as we prepare each new collaboration.

Bring what you can. Walk with us.

Churches, institutions, businesses, and individuals each have something to offer: professional skills, training opportunities, practical resources, prayer, time, and sustained friendship.
